That's what I figured. I liked the iscsi ease of use. I installed it on an ESX server and the file transfer speed was significantly faster to a mounted iscsi volume (using windows iscsi initiator) than to a share on a fast box running server 2k3. I didn't test anything with high I/O, though.

ACLs on a Linux FS over SMB?!?!? Hahahahha! Good luck!
Sorry, but I feel your pain. Full ACL support means NTFS support ATM.
Ext3 *does* support posix ACLs, but this is a mere subset of the HUGE
variety of ACLs that Microsoft supports.
