Yeah, we all know how much porn was being posted on alt.binaries.mp3.* Looks 
to me that dropping all of "alt." to eliminate a dozen or so garbage-carrying 
groups is playing into the hands of the MAFIAA -- makes one wonder just how 
much $$ they contributed to the campains of various NY officials ...

It seems to me that they [NYAG] should have been going after whomever uploaded 
material in those groups and then kill just those specific groups. Call me 
cynical, but these days when I hear phrases like "combat child 
porn", "prevent terrorism" or just "think of the children", my hackles raise 
and I start to wonder what the real motives are.

Speaking of porn, someone that works with the TBI told me that it was illegal 
for a Tennessee citizen to possess any pornography in digital form 
whatsoever. From what he described, it sounded like you could go to jail over 
having a "hard-R" DVD in your house -- much less one actually rated X. Of 
course everyone knows you're not allowed so much as a Playboy magazine if you 
have children under 18 ... the Morality Police really get on my last nerve.
